Starke Ayres is seeking candidates for a future Cashier role in Rosebank, Cape Town, as part of a Talent Pool initiative. The position, under the SALES department of Plennegy (Pty) Ltd., is a contract role with one vacancy, offering a market-related salary. Key responsibilities include handling financial transactions accurately, maintaining a clean work area, and providing courteous customer service. Candidates require a Grade 12 National Senior Certificate, and previous cashier experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with customers in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner at all times
• Accepts full responsibility for the float, ensuring it is correct each morning and when returning it at the end of day for safe keeping
• Accepts cash / cheques / credit cards and gift vouchers in exchange for goods in accordance with guidelines as laid down by the Company
• Ensures that all purchases are captured under the correct allocation on the cash register
• Assumes the responsibility of keeping the working area alongside the till point clean and tidy at all times

Qualifications

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
• Previous experience as a cashier
